The Learn-Lean ValueGame Clock factory teaches employees and management the application of different Lean methods in an entertaining manner. The aim of ValueGames is the transfer of experiences from game situations to daily practice. Active playful learning induces thought processes and a change in the perception of Lean methods. You will be

confronted with persistently varying logistics and shipping activities in a pleasant playful atmosphere. Differently colored types of clocks, boxes, and outer packagings call for highest concentration. In case of delayed delivery packaged clocks exert huge pressure by a loud ringing. Participants improve unsynchronized processes with uncontrolled

inventory situation applying various Lean methods. ValueGames increase the acceptance of future Lean activities in the company.

40 clocks, boxes, and outer packages, as well as a short manual are sorted in a high-quality facilitator's toolcase.

The Learn-Lean Clock Factory has been developed for three game rounds with 5 - 10 participants. Varying optimization approaches of the participants result in varying game situations and every new round starts with an improved workflow. On completion of every round the facilitator asks several questions concerning the game situations to test the knowledge of the participants.

Typical questions are, for instance:
- How can processes get synchronized?
- What measures could you take to reduce inventory?
- What is the effect of Kaizen?
- At which point acts the pacemaker signal on
  a process?
- What are possible effects caused by logistic
  changes of a supplier?

Diverse workstations are set up on available tables. Participants can perform the assembly and packaging operations in sitting or standing position. It takes about four minutes from order start to delivery. In case of delayed delivery a loud ringing reminds the

participants that the customer is waiting for the products. Modifying the assembly strategy participants will succeed in a massive reduction of assembly time and experience the effect of a Lean production personally. Delivery reliability, Kaizen, and the

implementation of a production flow with high variant mix are fundamental insights of the game.
